A diamond tool is composed by a synthetic diamond mesh and a bond which is a mixture of powders obtained from different metals. Among these metals are cobalt and nickel which, when dispersed in the environment in a certain quantity can pollute the soil filtering into the water beds of the same water we everyday drink.

The reason why this happens is that during the cutting, shaping, and grinding processes on natural stone, the diamond tool wears off consequently releasing tiny particles in the water coolant as well as in the residual sludge.

In the latest years Diatex have developed a range of ECO-friendly cobalt and nickel-free tools which reduce the negative impact on the environmental pollution.

In this way the residual sludge can be safely disposed of into the soil without any further risk for the environment.
